Welcome to the Bradfield Archives
Bradfield Parish Archives & Family History centre is located within Bradfield Parish Council Offices and is available for anyone to research Family, Social and Local History. The archive records are a unique collection of books/documents which includes references to the working and administration of the Parish over the last 500 years and also the running of the Bradfield Workhouse/Poor House based in High Bradfield from 1759 to 1847. The records/images you see on this website have been digitally enhanced/scanned to help you to research your ancestors in more depth and we are in the process of indexing each image to make searching easier. In addition to the records on this site we hold copies of all the Bradfield Census Returns from 1841 to 1901, microfiche copies of Bradfield St. Nicholas registers from 1559 to c1900 along with its monumental inscriptions, local photographs, reference books and much more The centre is open every Thursday throughout the year from 9.30am to 3.30pm - any other time by prior arrangement, we also have internet access to most family research sites. We are always looking for further material to add to our collection, if you have anything you would like to donate or allow us to copy we would be pleased for you to contact us.
