An d they presented upon their oaths that: Thomas Marshall, son and heir of Thomas Marshall, deceased, has surrendered into the hands of the Lord of the Manor, by the rod and according to the custom of the manor
All that messuage or dwelling house and all that parcel of land lying in Nether Bradfield now in the tenure or occupation of John Morton To the use of William Morton of Bradfield, his heirs and assigns forever
This surrender was made by the hands and acceptance of the said tenants, according to the custom of the manor without any writ or further process of law
Whereupon the Lord, through his steward, grants seisin to the said William Morton of the premises, to have and to hold to him and his heirs and assigns forever, according to the custom of the manor
Rent - to be held of the Lord by the ancient rents and services, namely: four pence yearly, payable at the usual times. And the said William Morton being present in court, gave to the Lord his fine for having entry upon the premises, and he did fealty (oath of loyalty). And his admitted tenant.
