Latin Translation Waldershelf Manor lately part of the possessions of the dissolved Priory of the Hospitallers of St John of Jerusalem in England
The Court Baron and Customary Court of George Savile, baronet, Lord of the said Manor held in this place the second day of May, the nineteenth year of the reign of our Lord Charles II, by the grace of God, King of England, Scotland, France and Ireland, defender of the faith etc. AD 1667
In that to this Court is witness through the deposition of John Marriott, senior, of Ughill, tenant of the Lord and in that the oath of George Ward of Armfield in the County of Cheshire, yeoman (out of Court - viz - the twentieth day of April last past, taken before this Court) through the hand of the said John Marriott and George Page of Bolsterstone gave back into the hand of the said Lord of the Manor following the custom of the Manor, reversing what happens by and after the death of Jane Ward, widow, of and all her messuage, now in the tenure or occupation of the said Jane Ward situated and being near Deep Carr Mill in the said Manor and two tofts and, by estimation, thirty acres of land and meadow with all domestic buildings, orchards, folds, gardens, closes, tenement land, , common commodities and appurtenances whatsoever pertaining, and moreover the reversion and reversions of the said premises and whatsoever, of which from them parts, and moreover all estate, title, interest and trust whatsoever of and in the said premises and moreover of and in otherwise part whatsoever existing, paid yearly to the Lord of the said Manor one shilling and sixpence and two fractions of one penny. To the use and benefit of Thomas Ward her heir and assign. Which said reversions concurred by him to the Lord through his Steward, the said Thomas Ward is admitted to the tenancy, his heirs and assigns, through pay and service according to the custom of the Manor. And paying to the Lord a fine of two shillings and four pence for taking over the occupation and giving the Lord fidelity and admission into the tenancy.
