Strafforth. By warrant from Sir Nicholas Sanderson, knight and baronet, and from others the King's Majesty's Commissioners for Charitable Uses these are in his Highness's name strictly to charge and command you and every one of you be and appear before His Majesty's Commissioners at Rotherham upon the 27th day of this instant September by nine of the clock in the forenoon of the same day and that you give warning and summons unto all the churchwardens within your several parishes and to the persons whose names are hereunder written or endorsed that they and those of them likewise be and appear before the said Commissioners at the time and place aforesaid with their evidences, writings and proofs to show cause if they can why the lands, rents, annuities, stocks of money, goods and other things given to charitable uses (which by them are detained) shall not be decreed and ordered by the said Commissioners to be redeemed and continued to the uses whereunto they were first given and appointed. And moreover that you the said Constables and Churchwardens he then sufficiently instructed and furnished with writings, evidences and promise of witnesses to maintain the presentations which are already formed according as they may be presented. Therefore fail not as else to send this warrant according to the direction with speed as you will answer the contrary at your peril September 13th 1615 - High Melton, Thos Lavet. To the constables of Ecclesfield and Bradfield and to other parishioners.
